Sr Benefits Analyst - DCP Midstream

Job Summary

Responsible for implementation and administration of employee and retiree benefit programs including health and welfare, life, disability, 401(k). Ensures compliance with all legal requirements; reviews the preparation and filing of legally required reports such as 5500s. This is a leading-edge organization that frequently evaluates new trends and ideas; this position conducts detailed and creative analyses to develop new ideas and provides recommendations for changes or enhancements to benefit offerings.

What you will be responsible for

• Administers benefits policies, procedures, and programs including (but not limited to) retirement and 401(k) plans, group medical, life and disability plans, employee assistance, wellness programs, flexible benefits plans (health and dependent care). Monitors and audits benefit plan processes and implements actions on a timely basis to ensure all benefit plans are designed and administered in compliance with applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations. Ensures accuracy and completeness of plan documents, summary plan descriptions (SPD) and ensures timely and accurate filing of 5500 reports.

• Develops benefit plan policies and procedures; interprets policies and procedures and recommends solutions to unusual situations by providing guidance and counseling on benefit plan provisions.

• Develops information and analysis for negotiations with vendors relative to renewal of contracts and program costs; prepares complex analysis of benefits plan data and develops action plans.

• Keeps abreast of changing federal and state regulations and legislation that may affect employee benefits such as PPACA, COBRA, HIPAA, etc. Interprets legal requirements and makes recommendations to policy and plan changes to maintain compliance. Works with vendors, brokers, and HR leadership to drive decision making and leads implementation of changes.

• Ensures a high level of customer service by acting as a liaison between field HR, employees, and benefit vendors to resolve escalated issues.

• Works with the HR leadership to provide analytical support to develop and maintain 2 – 3 year forward looking benefits strategy. Provides suggestions and thought leadership on development of benefits plans and programs.

• Designs and implements highly effective employee communication programs related to benefits and employee value propositions.

• Leads the annual benefits open enrollment process.

• Manages vendor relationships to resolve complex issues such as preferred provider network issues and policy exceptions.

• Administers Nonqualified Executive Deferred Compensation plan; ensures compliance with all government regulations.

• Stays informed on benefits trends. Ensures competitiveness of benefit programs by participating in studies and interpreting the survey results.

• Performs research projects, evaluates information, prepares presentations for leadership

• May instruct or coach other team members

• Performs other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is required.

• Minimum of 5 years compensation and/or benefits experience is required, although successful candidates will typically have 7-10 years. Experience in accounting, financial analysis, data analytics, or other detailed analytic work may substitute for some of this experience requirement.

• Benefits certifications such as CBP or CEB preferred.

• Must be detail oriented, highly organized and able to work independently.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Ability to interact with all levels of management within the organization and effectively influence a variety of internal audiences.

• Strong abilities in Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Salary Range

The salary range for this job is $67,600 - $108,100
