Legislative Updates – Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 & SAS 134-140: Audit Reports

Legislation continues to change on what seems to be a monthly basis.  In this webinar, we will discuss the Consolidated Appropriations Act (“CAA”), 2021, which updated regulations related to the Paycheck Protection Program (“PPP”), Families First Coronavirus Response Act (“FFCRA”) and Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (“CARES Act”) concerning the Employee Retention Tax Credit.  We will also discuss the recently deferred AICPA SAS 134-140, related to the new Audit Reports, and how they will impact Employee Benefit Plan financial statement audits going forward.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the impact the CAA 2021 had on PPP programs
  • Identify the updates to the FFCRA
  • Identify the updates to the CARES Act for the Employee Retention Tax Credit
  • Identify the forthcoming audit reporting updates, and the impact on Employee Benefit Plan financial statement audits.
